Itinerary:
Days 1-2:
Meet and explore the colorful capital city of San Jose. Spend a
day rafting the Pacuare - one of the world’s top whitewater
rivers, featuring thrilling rapids and majestic forests set in a
secluded canyon.

Days 3-5: Enjoy a scenic flight to the Nicoya Peninsula then head
to Tamarindo’s sun-drenched sandy beaches for some excellent
surfng. Learn to surf - guaranteed - from our expert instructors
or opt to sea kayak in the adjacent Las Baulas National Park.
Days
6-8: Explore Volcan Tenorio National Park. Hike to the extraordinary
Rio Celeste waterfall, swim in the blue lagoon and soak in natural
hot springs. Horseback ride through rainforests and endless green
countryside. Transfer to Liberia for flights home.


Lodging Highlights
Nights
1 and 2:
Near San Jose we stay at the Costa
Verde Inn, in the town of Escazu. The Inn is quiet and secluded,
yet a short walk from the lively town square.

3-5:
In Tamarindo we stay at La
Laguna del Cocodrilo, which is perfectly situated
on the beach and in town. From the
gardens you can watch the sun set over
the pacific, or the crocodiles in the
nearby lagoon.

6 and 7:
The lodging highlight of the trip may be our final stop, La
Carolina Lodge, a rustic yet comfortable guesthouse on the eastern
slopes of Volcano Tenorio. The lodge is a renovated farm and ranch
covering 170 acres, with hiking trails and a river running through

information:
In order to minimize travel time in Costa Rica you should
plan to fly into San Jose and out of Liberia, which has an
international airport with direct flights to the U.S. If you
would prefer to fly in an out of San Jose please let us know
and we can help you arrange a flight from Liberia to San Jose.
Guides
and instruction:
Surf lessons will be led by Greg Lewis, owner of Santa Barbara
Surf School, with help from local surf instructors who live
in Costa Rica. We will have a bilingual Costa Rican guide
and driver throughout the trip. Rafting will be led by a local
company, and hiking and horseback riding by guides at La Carolina
Lodge.
Inclusions:
Surf lessons and rentals, rafting, hiking and horseback riding,
all lodging, all meals, domestic transportation including
the flight from San Jose to Tamarindo.
