Santa Barbara Surf School has been providing fun group activities for over two decades. Chief among those fun group activities are our large yet still private surfing lessons. We teach everything from solo lessons to groups as large as 40 participants. If you have a large group or are hosting a corporate retreat from Goleta to Ventura we would love to take you surfing.

A large group surf lesson is the type of fun group activity that will bring your group closer together. We’ve taught everything from wedding groups, bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, to hosting large group surf lessons with Nike, Goldman Sachs, Big Bear Resort, Verizon and AT&T. We have a large inventory of surfboards, wetsuits, and top notch instructors to ensure your team leaves Santa Barbara with a surfing memory they’ll remember. Our experienced staff will ensure that everyone is receiving the hands on coaching needed for beginner surfers. Our team knows just how to turn a surf lesson into one of the most fun group activities that your group will remember from your trip to Santa Barbara. What’s included with your Group Surf Lesson?
We will provide the surfboards, leashes, wetsuits, sunblock, and the instructors. All you need to do is show up with your bathing suit, a change of clothes, and water.
Extra equipment such as tents, games, and lunches can be provided for an additional cost. Please let us know what you have in mind and we will do our best to make it happen.

Duration – 2 hours
As a surf company we understand that fun group activities are always more fun when you catch more waves and can enjoy ample time in the water. For large group surf lessons we provide extra time and extend the lessons to 2 hours. This helps guarantee that everyone receives adequate time in the water with the surf instructors. Once the group is suited up in our surf school provided wetsuits we’ll begin going over surf techniques on the beach before hitting the waves. After the beach portion of the surf lesson we’ll have over an hour in the water working on everyone’s surfing skills. One hour is the perfect duration for catching plenty of waves, leaving you thoroughly tired with a smile on your face! We are more than happy to extend your lesson if requested. We have found that for fun group activities the fun lasts for about 2 hours before hunger and exhaustion start to kick in. Please be sure to let us know if you would like a longer group surf lesson when making your reservation as we will be happy to accommodate.
Where to meet?
Fun group activities are only as fun as the waves allow them to be. Surf conditions are changing on a daily basis, which is why we make it our business to ensure you’re catching the best waves in the area on any given day. Our experienced staff is always keeping their eyes on wave heights and wind patterns. When you call, we will inform you of which beach location will be the best surf spot to meet at. For large groups, surf lessons in Ventura are our recommendation as the beaches in Ventura provide ample space and long breaking waves perfect for a fun group activity in the ocean.
